Ambassador Mxolisi Nkosi

Founder / Chairperson

Ambassador Mxolisi Nkosi was born in Soweto, South Africa. He is the Ambassador and Permanent Representative of South Africa to the United
Nations in Geneva and Other International Organisations in Switzerland.  Previously he served as South Africa’s Ambassador to the  Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Head of Mission to the European Union. He was also President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Sherpa to G7 Outreach Sessions.

With over twenty years experience in the foreign service, Ambassador Nkosi has served in various senior leadership positions in South Africa’s Department of Foreign Affairs.

Before joining the government, Nkosi was a trade union leader, where he served  as the Deputy General Secretary of the South African Democratic

Teachers Union (SADTU), an affiliate of the Congress of South African Trade
Unions (COSATU).

Trained as a teacher, Ambassador Nkosi has a passion for education and is a fervent believer in the dictum “education is power”.

He is a member of the Leadership Group of Indlulamithi, South Africa Scenarios 2030.

Ambassador Nkosi holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Pretoria (2010).

Mr. Nkoana Maloka

Board Member

Nkoana Maloka began his professional career as an educator in 1989, progressing to education development non governmental organizations, including trade unions; and later the first non-racial Education Department as well as Local Government sector post Apartheid South Africa.

His career spans over 20 years of work in senior management in the public sector.

He is a former Director, Community Services, Greater Germiston Transitional Council; Acting Executive Director, Housing and Social Development Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality (EMM); South: Regional Executive at Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

Periodically, he has lectured at the Wits University School of Public and Development Management and North West University School of Leadership on invitation by lecturers of core courses as well as electives, including Governance and Development.

Since 2014, he has been on the development space as Provincial Manager (Kwazulu-Natal and Free State Provinces) commissioned by the National Education Development Trust (Nect) through the Programme for Improvement of Learning Outcomes(PILO). He is a Director of Bokgoni Consulting Pty (Ltd), and also served as the board member of Germiston Municipal Pension Fund.

Maloka holds a Secondary Teacher’s Diploma (STD), 1988, 1st class pass from the East Rand College; a BA Honours, Human Resources Development (HRD), University of Johannesburg, 1996; and a Master of Management in Public and Development Management (MM P&DM) from the University of Witwatersrand, 2006.

Mr. Mxolisi Dlamini

Board Member

Mxolisi Dlamini hails from Volksrust, in Mpumalanga Province of South Africa.

His studies for a junior degree at the Vista University Soweto campus in 1987 were interrupted by detention a spell under the State of Emergency in 1988. On release from detention in February 1989 he got employed by the Food and Allied Workers Union (FAWU) from October 1989 until December 1991.

In 1992 he studied for a B. Admin degree at the University of Durban Westville. He completed the degree in 1994.In October 1995 he was employed by the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) as deputy international relations officer.

In 1997 he registered for a post graduate diploma in Economic Principles through hard-work correspondence with the University of London. He completed the diploma in 1998.

In April 2000 he was employed in the Ministry of Water Affairs and Forestry. Mr. Dlamini remains a senior manager in the South African government.

Mr. Sipho Mtimkhulu

Board Member

Mr. Sipho Mtimkhulu is a former teacher and school principal of Prudens Secondary School in Soweto, South Africa. Since 2008, he has been involved with the Education and Research Foundation, focusing on supporting schools on issues of governance, hard-work and excellent education.

The Foundation provides mentorship to leaners who want to pursue careers in fields that were not open to previously disadvantaged undergraduates and postgraduates. Most of the Foundation’s graduates have joined various industries and some have ploughed back in their communities.

Ms Tebogo Mazibuko

Board Member

Ms Tebogo Mazibuko holds an MBA, Munich Business School (Germany, 2020), LLM, University of Amsterdam(Netherlands, 2008), BA Law(2003) and LLB(2006), both from Stellenbosch University, South Africa.

She launched her legal professional career as a Candidate Attorney at Edward Nathan Sonnenbergs Inc.in 2009, proceeded to KPMG Services(Pty) Ltd as a Consultant in International Corporate Tax; Manager, Legal, Compliance and Transformation with Awethu Project Capital and Incubator (Pty) Ltd.

She is currently an Authorised Officer, Member of the Board, Director of International Business, Legal and Compliance at Valvisio Consulting Gmbh in Germany, where she started as Head of Compliance and Law, Strategic Business Development.

Ms. Mazibuko has a career that spans about twelve years in the legal and business strategic development profession.

Ms Chuma Mjali

Board Member

Ms Chuma Mjali was born and bred in the Eastern Cape. She is currently a Lecturer at the University of Fort Hare within the Nkuhlu Department of Accounting and the National Head of Education for ABASA (Association for the Advancement of Black Accountants. Ms Chuma was recently appointed to the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors (IRBA) as a Non-Executive Director.

Ms Chuma is a Chartered Accountant and a Chartered Global Management Accountant with local and international experience. She holds a Master of Commerce in Accounting (UCT – 2019), Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (UCT-2009) and a Business Science degree in the special field of Finance ( UCT-2007).

Ms Chuma is passionate about making a difference especially towards the development of the youth as she strongly believes that the future lies in their hands.
